Boar’s Head a étendu son rappel de charcuterie à 7 millions de livres supplémentaires de produits prêts à consommer.
La Food and Drug Administration (FDA) a annoncé mardi un
nouveau rappel
qui inclut 71 produits en raison d’une
contamination potentielle par la listeria
The recalled products were made at firm’s Jarratt, Virginia, plant between May 10 and July 29 under the Boar’s Head and Old Country brand names and distributed nationwide.
Listeria was first discovered in Boar’s Head liverwurst by the Maryland Department of Health earlier this month. Boar’s Head has since recalled its ready-to-eat liverwurst along with several other deli meat products that were produced on the same line and on the same day as the liverwurst, including ham, bologna, salami, and more.

Federal health authorities are investigating Boar’s Head’s role in the
deadly 13-state listeria outbreak
tied to deli meat sliced at counters, announced earlier this month.
Consumption of food contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes can cause listeriosis, a serious infection that primarily affects older adults, persons with weakened immune systems, and pregnant women and their newborns.
Listeriosis can cause fever, muscle aches, headache, stiff neck, confusion, loss of balance and convulsions sometimes preceded by diarrhea or other gastrointestinal symptoms. In pregnant women, the infection can cause miscarriages, stillbirths, premature delivery or life-threatening infection of the newborn. In addition, serious and sometimes fatal infections in older adults and persons with weakened immune systems can occur.
Consumers who purchased these products are urged not to consume them. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase. Consumers who purchased these products are also urged to clean refrigerators thoroughly to prevent the risk of cross-contamination.
