As the highly anticipated
final chapter of
Yellowstone
approaches, a few of the show’s stars sat down with
Entertainment Weekly
to share their experience with finally bringing the juggernaut series to a close.
Kelly Reilly, who plays sharp-tongued Beth Dutton and the Taylor Sheridan hit, told the publication that in the end, the lengthy delay in production and
Kevin Costner
’s premature exit worked out for the best.
“It was always going to be five seasons in [Sheridan’s] head, but because the show became so successful, the network and everyone wanted more,” Reilly said. “So, in a way, fate took it and we ended this part of
Yellowstone
in a way that he always envisioned it to end.”
The British actress
previously shared
that while cast and crew weren’t privy to the exact details, they knew how the Dutton saga would end when they signed on to the project more than six years ago.
While he might have had the broad strokes,
Luke Grimes
(Kayce Dutton) said he waited until the last possible moment to find out how the show would end.
“I read the last episode the day before we started filming,” he admitted to
EW
. “I couldn’t be happier. I think it’s a perfect ending for the show for every character. It’s just a testament to what a good writer Taylor is, and it’s a very, very profound, beautiful ending. I can’t wait to sit down and watch it one day.”
Get ready, y’all.
Yellowstone
makes its triumphant return to Paramount Network on Sunday, November 10.
