Historic Resort Omni Grove Park Inn Closed Until Further Notice After Hurricane Helene

For more than 100 years, vacationers have visited the legendary

Omni Grove Park Inn

to golf, dine, unwind at its underground spa, and take in the unmatched views from Sunset Mountain. Like many other

historic properties

around Northwest North Carolina,

Hurricane Helene

has forced the Omni to shut its doors until further notice.

“While we are in the early stages of assessing the impact on our hotel’s infrastructure, our priority remains the safety and well-being of our team and guests,” read a statement from the resort. “We are committed to getting our operations back to full functionality as quickly and safely as possible to reopen and welcome you again soon. Rest assured, we are working tirelessly to restore full functionality and ensure a swift recovery for all affected. Together, we stand strong and are All In.”

Since closing, the hotel has donated food to its staff, the Asheville Police Department, and Duke Energy employees.

from the hotel shared how they were there during the storm, and praised the hotel staff for how they handled the situation.

“We were there Wednesday until Saturday when you had to get us out of there. Your staff was amazing during this storm and went over and beyond with helping us anyway they could. Shout out to your Director of Rooms, David, Charles at the front desk, and Michael your elevator attendant were some of the most amazing humans I’ve ever met. Thank you for your hospitality!” read one comment.

Another person added: “We were there when the power went out and the water was no longer working. I must say, your staff did everything they could. Praying for all of you.”
