Have you ever tasted a shandy? This cousin to the German raddler was born in England—and both consist of beer mixed with a citrusy soda. As an ode to the season, we’ve added sparkling
apple
cider to the mix, along with a little lemon juice for purists. The result is a supremely sippable, lower-alcohol
drink
that will keep your party guests refreshed if the Southern fall turns a bit fickle.
Ingredients
-
1 1/2
cups
chilled Hefeweizen or German Pilsner
(from 1 [12-oz.] bottle) -
1 1/2
cups
chilled sparkling apple cider
(from 1 [750-milliliter] bottle) -
2
Tbsp.
fresh lemon juice
(from 1 lemon) -
Lemon wheels
Directions
-
Divide beer and cider evenly between 2 pint glasses. Divide lemon juice evenly between glasses, and gently stir together to combine. Garnish with lemon wheels.
