McAlister’s Deli
When it comes to
sweet tea
, Southerners are an opinionated bunch. From the amount of sugar to the length of steep time to the temperature of the water, each home cook has a recipe they swear by—and they’ll raise a ruckus if you challenge their method. (Even still, we’ll continue recommending
baking soda to make your tea shine
.) We can all agree, however, that sweet tea should be plentiful.
One chain-made sweet tea that gets a frequent thumbs-up from Southerners is the signature brew from McAlister’s Deli, headquartered in
Atlanta, Georgia
. They keep it simple: fresh, specially filtered Orange Pekoe black tea sweetened and poured over ice. And lucky for us, that famous sweet tea—known as Big Tea—is totally free on
July 18.
