Real Madrid Club de Fútbol is one of the world’s biggest clubs, if not the biggest. Founded in 1902 by a group of young people from Oxford and Cambridge, the club quickly established itself on the footballing scene. The club’s record of achievements is nothing short of impressive. 33 Spanish championship titles (a record), 19 King’s Cups, 2 UEFA Cups. Above all, Real Madrid has won the Champions League a record 13 times.

As you can see, the Merengue club is a force to be reckoned with. And the players are quick to understand this. Legends such as Alfredo Di Stéfano, Ferenc Puskás, Raymond Kopa, Emilio Butragueño, Raúl, Figo, Zinédine Zidane, Iker Casillas and Cristiano Ronaldo have all worn the club’s colors.

Since 1947, Real Madrid has played its home matches at the Estadio Santiago Bernabéu. It bears the name of the club’s former president, Santiago Bernabéu, who was also a player.

Which matches to choose?

Let’s be clear: tickets to attend a match are in high demand. And prices keep pace with demand. So you’ll need to budget accordingly if you want to see Real Madrid play.

To optimize your chances, it’s best to opt for small or medium-sized fixtures (e.g. Celta Vigo or Granada). King’s Cup matches can also be a good option. The price, however, varies according to the opponent.

For a major match, such as the Clasicó or a Champions League game, tickets can cost upwards of a thousand euros. What’s more, the minimum price will still be very high. And only a small part of the stadium is included in these prices. What’s more, demand for these matches will be enormous.

Your position in the stadium will influence ticket prices. However, it’s not just a question of stands, but also of height. This is true of all stadiums, but even more so in this case.

Here are the stadium’s four grandstands:

  • Lateral Este: this is the side area housing the presidential grandstand. Prices here are the highest. However, the highest part still offers affordable prices,
  • Lateral Oeste: this is the other side stand. Also comfortable, prices will be slightly lower than those opposite. But it’s still expensive. Affordable seats are also available at the top,
  • Fondo Norte: this is the first turn. Many subscriber groups end up on the lower half. Seats are cheaper there. But beware, there are a lot of subscribers,
  • The Fondo Sur: the other corner, where the Sur Ultras meet. This is where the atmosphere is at its hottest. Not for families. Prices are affordable, but a large proportion of seats are reserved for season ticket holders.

For a less important match in the league

For a King’s Cup match

For the Copa del Rey, prices will vary depending on the opponent. But if the opponent is not a rival, the prices will be the most attractive. However, if the opponent is a team from a lower division, the stadium may not be full. The atmosphere will then be less intense.
