You just can’t beat peak-season summer produce. While heirloom tomatoes and freshly picked strawberries have our hearts, there’s nothing quite like biting into a sweet, juicy peach. The Southern soft spot for peaches may come from bumper crops in South Carolina and Georgia that, for generations, have yielded
peach desserts
of all kinds. Homemade peach ice cream, latticed peach pie, gooey peach cobbler, and flaky fried
hand pies
top the list of Southern favorites, but
the list of peachy possibilities
is lengthy.
When you don’t have time to whip up one of our homemade peach desserts
from scratch
(or your local bakery has run out of peach pies), the next-best thing is to turn to a comfort food chain known for
Southern recipes
just like Grandma used to make. Meet the all-new Peach Cobbler from North Carolina-based
Bojangles
.
The Southern fried chicken chain just announced their biscuit twist on the classic summer dessert: a made-from-scratch buttermilk biscuit base covered in sweet, seasonal peaches finished with icing and a sprinkle of cinnamon sugar. Of course, as it should be, the dessert is served warm.
“Summer is the season for fresh peaches in the South, so we’re excited to serve up a Southern classic with a Bojangles twist,” said Marshall Scarborough, Vice President of Culinary and Menu Innovation for Bojangles. “Our new Peach Cobbler is a great example of our chefs using the Bojangles pantry along with seasonally available peaches to bring one of the most iconic and loved Southern desserts to life in our restaurants.”
As Bojangles’ new peach cobbler
menu item
relies on the availability of fresh peaches, the dessert will only be available through the summer while supplies last. Whether you need an afternoon pick-me-up or a post-dinner treat, you can enjoy this taste of summer at your local
Bojangles
or through the Bo App for pick-up or delivery.
Buttermilk biscuits
and
peaches? We’ll see y’all there.
Happy peach season!
