Schillerplatz is a large square in the historic heart of the city, surrounded by numerous buildings: theAltes Schloss (« Old Castle », a former 10th-century water tower), as well as the Fruchtkasten and Prinzenbau, superb Gothic monuments. The statue of Friedrich Schiller – the famous historian and philosopher who gave his name to the square – is enthroned in the middle of the square.

If we mention Schillerplatz, it’s because it’s a magnificent place to be, and you can get to many places of interest from there: take a trip to the Landesmuseum Württemberg, the history museum, or stroll along Königstraße and enjoy a Bratwurst, those grilled sausages available on every street corner! Gourmands and gourmets alike can extend their culinary adventure by opting for a 4-cheese/wine fondue tasting: a guaranteed anti-cold remedy!

The historic center is divided between ultra-modern minimalist buildings and period buildings: accommodation in Stuttgart is easy in the heart of the city, thanks to the host of hotels and rental accommodation on offer.

To make the most of the city’s treasures, consider the StuttCard: a card that gives you access to all Stuttgart’s attractions at reduced prices. A true travel companion, this city pass is a must-have to make the most of your stay!

Further to the north, this district offers a wealth of green spaces and attractions of all kinds: go ice-skating at the Eisbahn if you’re staying here in winter! Numerous hotels await you here, as well as accommodation available for rent all year round on a budget (these are weekly apartments in baroque buildings, which explains the rather high prices in the area).

Visit the State Park, the famous Stuttgart Opera House or… the Neues Schloss, Stuttgart’s « New Palace »!

If you’re still looking for a place to stay in Stuttgart, there’s one place that comes particularly highly recommended if your priority is total peace and quiet: this residential area is simply surrounded by sumptuous green spaces where you’ll find it easy to bask in the sun!

Particularly well served by public transport, the area is also a springboard to the outskirts of the city, where you can visit the museums dedicated to the various carmakers who made the city famous (we recommend the museum dedicated to Mercedes, the Stuttgart BAD CAnnstatt.): for enthusiasts of fine mechanical engineering who are looking for a place to stay in Stuttgart while enjoying a cultural stay around the precursors of the automobile!

On the other hand, there are very few hotels in the area, so it’s best to look for apartments for rent on dedicated platforms.
